This site is maintained by the North Carolina Association of Rural Planning Organizations (NCARPO). This site was developed to assist elected officials and their staff, as well as the general public they serve, to find information about transportation issues in their community, and how to address issues that will not be solved through large construction projects, typically found in the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).

The general public is encouraged to use this site. It is designed so the user can click on the tab on the left side of the screen that best describes their transportation- related question. The subsequent page will offer more specific categories. Keep on selecting tabs until you get to the topic you want. You can also scroll through the Site Map to view all the categories on this site.

This site is not yet finished, but should be completed in May 2007. We encourage comments and questions in the meantime. Feel free to email staff through the link provided below.

	Did You Know? There are 20 rural planning organizations in North Carolina. These organizations are jointly funded by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) and individual RPO members. The RPOs exist to facilitate communication between rural municipalities and counties and the NCDOT.
